Direct Thermal Labels

Direct thermal labels are very similar to thermal transfer labels, because they are initially printed as a template or blank label to use on site. Direct thermal labels however do not use a ribbon to transfer ink, and data is applied through the use of heat inside a thermal printer. The process of heat application makes this type of label cheaper, but not nearly as durable as its transfer counterpart. This is because any close contact to heat can corrupt the label. Black is also the only color available when printing on this type of material. Even with its drawbacks, direct thermal labels do have a perfect use in receipts, shipping labels, name tags, and event tickets.
