Kitty Litter Pet Product Label

This adorable rectangle-shaped kitty litter pod label is 4.25in X 1.625 in, and was printed on one of our flexographic presses. With this particular label, looks can be quite deceiving. There is actually extra information that needed to be visible on the back, and the adhesive still needed to be functional in order to stick onto the product packaging.

We accomplished this through the use of 2 different stocks and a flood coat to separate the two different art designs. Otherwise, the front art would be visible through the back and vice versa, and this is obviously not the desired result. One option was to use a really expensive material to fix the problem, but because Atlanta Label prides itself on being a trusted partner to every business, we were able to offer this solution instead. This saved our client quite a bit of money without losing the production quality Atlanta Label is known for.

Pet Product Label Requirements

Just like so many other industries, labels are regulated in the pet sector. Before getting into the pet product industry, make sure to do your own due diligence as to what is required on your product label. Here is a general overview of what to pay attention to for a popular option like pet food:

  • Name and purpose of the brand or product
  • Name of the animal species the product is for
  • Net quantity that tells the consumer how much product is contained
  • The minimum percentage of crude fat and protein, and maximums of fiber and moisture for example
  • The list of ingredients
  • If certain claims like ‘balanced diet’ are used, then information such as life-stage must be included. Feeding directions also seem to be required sometimes as well
  • Manufacturer’s name and address are required

Note, this information changes based on the type of food product (Snack foods for instance can omit quite a few items on this list). This information can be seen in further depth here and is not a replacement for doing your own product research.
